About Shannon Cherry

Public Relations and Marketing Pro, Author and International Speaker

Shannon Cherry, APR, MA, is the founder and president of Cherry Communications and its subsidiaries Be Heard Solutions and Penny Pinching Publicity. Working with small business owners and entrepreneurs, her goal is to help them to find their voice, tell their story and be heard.

A former TV and newspaper journalist, Shannon has aggressively designed and developed dozens of innovative public relations and marketing strategies. Her clients have appeared on the pages of USA Today, the New York Times, Money Magazine, Associated Press, and Parenting and have been featured on the Today Show, CNN, The History Channel, Good Morning America, and Oprah. 

Shannon earned accreditation in public relations from PRSA in 1995. She received her bachelor's degree in communications from SUNY Geneseo and a MA in Communications Administration for the University of Memphis.

She is the co-author of Become Your Own Great and Powerful: A Woman’s Guide to Leading Your Real, Big Life and Parenting Beyond Belief, the number one parenting book on Amazon.com for more than 6 months.

As a professional speaker, who has presented at national and international conferences and conventions, Shannon travels about seven times a year to offer information and advice on public relations and publicity to audiences throughout the world.

Shannon created National be Heard Day in 2004 to call attention to the 145+ million people who are either own a small business or is an independent professional in the United States and use low-cost marketing efforts to get the word out. The day urges these professionals to find their voice, tell their story and be heard through marketing and publicity.
